About Turfing
Turf is the quickest way to go from bare soil to a finished lawn, and it is also one of the easiest things to get wrong, because most failures happen before a single roll is unwrapped. We clear and level the ground first, break up any compaction so the roots can get down, and lay the turf tight with staggered joints. The process
How the job runs

Clear the ground
Old lawn, weeds and debris come out. Turf laid over the top of what is already there struggles to root into it.

Break up and level
Compacted ground is dug over so roots can get down, then levelled and raked off. Bumps and hollows are much easier to fix now than later.

Lay the turf
Rolls are laid tight with the joints staggered like brickwork, so the seams knit together instead of drying out and opening up.

Cut in and firm down
Edges are cut to the shape of the lawn and the turf is firmed to remove air pockets underneath.

Tell you what it needs
The first few weeks of watering decide whether it takes. We will tell you how much and how often rather than leave you guessing.
