Overview
About Composite Decking
Composite boards cost more than timber at the outset and then ask almost nothing of you afterwards. There is no annual oiling, no splintering, and no sanding a grey surface back every few springs. If the upkeep is the reason you have put off a deck, this is the version that answers it. The sub-frame is built to the same standard as a timber deck, because the boards are only ever as good as what sits under them.

The process
How the job runs
- 1
Check levels and access
The finished height is set against the threshold, the damp course and the garden before anything is built.
- 2
Build the sub-frame
Composite boards need the joist spacing the manufacturer specifies. Get it wrong and the boards sag between supports, so this is not the place to save timber.
- 3
Lay the boards
Boards are fixed with the expansion gaps composite needs, because it moves more with temperature than timber does.
- 4
Trim, finish and hand over
Fascia boards and edge trims close the frame in so the deck reads as one piece, then we walk the finished deck with you and talk through the little bit of care composite needs to stay looking new.
The price
Composite Decking costs
No two jobs price the same, and anyone quoting over the phone without seeing it is guessing. These are the things that actually move the number, and the visit to work them out is free.
- The area, and the board range you choose, which varies a lot
- The height off the ground and the sub-frame it needs
- Balustrade and steps in matching composite
- Whether an old deck has to come out and go away first
Why choose us
Why people call us for this
- 1
Private homes only
We only work on private homes and gardens, so a domestic job is the job, not a gap between contracts.
- 2
The groundwork gets its time
The groundwork gets the time it needs. That is unglamorous, and it is the whole difference between a surface that lasts and one that moves.
- 3
Waste leaves with us
Waste leaves with us, so you are not left disposing of spoil, old slabs or brash.
- 4
One point of contact
You deal with the person doing the work, so nothing gets lost between a salesman and a fitter.
