Overview

About Crown Removal

Crown work is how you keep a tree that has outgrown its position without taking the whole thing down. Reducing or removing the crown brings the height and the spread back under control, takes weight off limbs that have grown long and heavy, and puts light back into the rooms and borders the tree had started to shade.

FAQs

Crown Removal: common questions

Will it grow back?

Yes, and that is normal. Crown work is maintenance rather than a one-off, so it is worth thinking about it on a cycle rather than as a single job.

Can you cut a tree back off my neighbour's side?

You are generally entitled to cut back growth that overhangs your boundary, up to the boundary line, but not beyond it. Anything more than that is a conversation with the neighbour, and a protected tree changes the position again.

Do you give a free quote?

Yes. We come out, look at the job and give you a price for it, at no charge and with no obligation to go ahead.

How soon can you start?

It depends on the time of year and the size of the job, and resin in particular needs dry weather. Get in touch and we will give you a realistic start date rather than an optimistic one.
